Where Men Win Glory by Jon Krakauer & Unbroken by Laura Hillenbrand
I decided today was American Hero day.
The recent passing of Louis Zamperini is a great loss. Read his incredible story in Unbroken.
And on vacation last week, I drove over the Pat Tillman Memorial Bridge. You can read his story in Where Men Win Glory.
Best for: Both books are great for adults, high school, and even middle school readers.
I can remember exactly where I was on 9/11. It is one of those days that changes your life forever.
On this day every year, I read this post by author Meg Cabot. She is one of my favorite authors, and was living in NYC at the time. Her first-hand account of the experience is one of the best that I've read, and I couldn't write anything nearly so compelling.
Click here to read. And I've been warned by friends reading it for the first time, that Kleenex is a must.
Always remember...
